Barbara Harison, Executive Director, began working with the Conservancy in May 2007. For 14 years Barbara was Principal/Owner of Harison & Associates, a park and recreation planning and management consulting firm. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked for 22 years in public management and was Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of San Buenaventura from 1986-1993. She holds an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University and an M.S. in Recreation Administration from San Francisco State University and B.A. from San Jose State University.
Barbara and her husband Richard have lived in Ventura for 20 years. She has been a member of VHC since its founding. She also serves on the Ventura County Channel Islands Harbor Commission and is a member of the Ventura County Community College District Personnel Commission.

Jenise Wagar, Program Coordinator, brings a wealth of experience to this position and we are fortunate to have her step in and assist our maturing organization. Jenise worked for the City of Ventura for nearly 20 years with her most recent position being Civic Engagement Manager. The VHC will benefit from her strong skills in building collaborations with public agencies, community groups and businesses. Jenise has a B.A. in Political Science and also served as the City's Public Affairs Manager and worked on such notable projects as the Ventura Community Park partnership, Pier into the Future and CAPS, the Citys Community Media Center.
Jenise has been a member of the Conservancy since its start in 2003. She is an active volunteer in the community herself, along with her husband and three young children.

Lisa Clements, Membership Services Coordinator, was hired in August 2004 and has been a member of VHC ever since. Before working with VHC, she worked for Kinko's, Inc. for five years as the Communications Operations Coordinator, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Corporate Communications and Administrative Assistant for the Director of Corporate Training.
Lisa has lived in Ventura County since 1993. She currently lives in the mid-town Ventura area with her husband David Feeney and their son.
